To Secede or Not to Secede?

Of all the things I've heard lately the one that peaked my interest most is the northern part of Colorado wants to secede from the rest of Colorado to form their own state. Apparently most of those living in rural Colorado feel their interests are not adequately represented and their way of life is being threatened by new laws from gun control to energy production. Now they want a state and legislation that will support the interests of rural Colorado and not only those of urban Colorado.

WOW! This is where diversity is leading. Factionalism. Yes I did just make up that word but it explains itself. Each faction within our great union has the right to be heard and the right to make laws when enough people and the right lawmakers agree.

That seemed easier when most in our union had similar values but now freedom has come to mean: I have the right to do whatever I want to do regardless of what it means for others. "My way and my right because I have the freedom to do whatever I want to do!"

No longer are we "One nation under God"; that is unless the god you refer to is yourself. Then we should change our pledge to "One nation comprised of individual gods". One nation can only be one nation when the vision is clear and we become united under one purpose. That is no longer true. Self interests have taken precedent over national interests and our current leadership fully promotes that idea. Can we become united again?

I believe it's possible and I believe it will happen but only when we have clear vision based on values and morality. I am looking forward to a time when a leader will bring us all together, united in a purpose.

I believe in hope and in the midst of confusion hope says a better thing is going to happen. I like to believe a better world awaits. In the book of Revelation we can read: "The kingdom of the world is now the Kingdom of our God and his Messiah! He will rule forever and ever!" Finally, "One nation under God". Clear vision and strong leadership.
